Sectional Warping

Sectional warping is a process that allows Christine to tie on to her last warp and not have to re-thread the heddles and reed.

45" Wide Le Clerc Counter Balanced Loom

Christine uses a tension box to wind on her sectional warp.  Her shawls and scarves are woven with rayon chenille.
Extra tension comes from wrapping tensioning dowels with felt.
The loom, located in a corner,  makes winding on a traditional warp an awkward process.

Therefore sectional warping is more convenient & efficient.
For several years she wove yards of cotton fabric to make into placemats and napkins.

This is just one of many warps she wove.
