Wood Firing & Salt Glazing Workshop

2002
Bristol Studio Session

Bob & David taking a break between stoking.

Raking coals to let more air into the firebox

Plates showing "comet trails" which are more typical of the extended firing of an anagama. The wad marks let the natural clay show, while flashing flows around leaving the tell tale pattern.

Looking into the firebox during the firing.

Bricking up the door prior to firing.

Soot marks the stokers arms, but its a joy to look into the mouth of the dragon.
